An integrated operation involving the Civil Police of Roraima (Polícia Civil de Roraima – PCRR), the 3rd Police Station (Distrito Policial – DP), and the Division of Intelligence and Capture (Divisão de Inteligência e Captura – DICAP) of the Secretariat of Justice and Citizenship (SEJUC) resulted in the arrest of H.L.S., 23 years old, suspected of invading a residence and violently assaulting a 53-year-old woman during a robbery. The operation was carried out on Saturday morning, the 14th, in the Equatorial neighborhood, West zone of Boa Vista.
According to information provided by the head of the DRRFVAT, Leonardo Michell, the forceful effort to apprehend the suspect demonstrated the effectiveness of the integration among public security institutions in combating violent crime.
The crime occurred on March 2 of this year, in the Cauamé neighborhood. The suspect is accused of invading the victim’s house and brutally assaulting her to steal a motorcycle and a cell phone. The woman suffered serious injuries, including a traumatic brain injury, and required hospitalization in critical condition.
The suspect’s preventive detention was requested based on strong evidence gathered by the Civil Police teams. The individual has an extensive criminal record, including thefts, robberies, and attempted homicide, indicating high dangerousness.
Leonardo Michell emphasized the importance of cooperation among the units.
“It is about a repeat offender, extremely violent. The victim was cowardly assaulted. His arrest represents a direct response from public security and was only possible thanks to the integrated action of the Civil Police with DICAP. This union of forces is essential to protect the population and prevent such criminals from continuing their actions,” he stated.
After the arrest, the suspect underwent a physical examination at the Legal Medicine Institute (IML). On Sunday, the 15th, he will be taken to the Custody Hearing.
